ITAutomated Installation Guide
Install the complete self-contained Windows application, complete the first launch, activate the correct licence and prepare the administration modules you intend to use. Separate instructions are provided for clean installations, recovery installations and incremental updates.
Download
Use the complete Windows x64 package for every new installation.
Extract
Extract the entire package into one approved local application folder.
Launch
Start the dashboard executable and confirm the displayed build number.
Activate
Use the seven-day Pro trial or activate the purchased Starter or Pro licence.
The complete package is required for a clean or recovery installation. An incremental update package contains only changed application files and cannot be used to create a new installation.
Before You Begin
Confirm the workstation, account and security requirements before downloading the application.
Review system requirements
Confirm supported 64-bit Windows, Windows PowerShell 5.1, required Citrix SDKs, Microsoft RSAT modules, network access and delegated permissions.
View System RequirementsChoose the operating account
Install and activate ITAutomated while signed in as the named Windows account that will normally operate the software.
Obtain security approval
Confirm that endpoint protection, application control, proxy and firewall policies allow the approved ITAutomated release.
Close older versions
Exit every running ITAutomated process before replacing, moving or updating application files.
Choose the Correct Download
Use the package type that matches the task you are performing.
ITAutomated.AdminDashboard-[version]-win-x64.zip
Contains the complete self-contained Windows application, supporting libraries, configuration file and bundled tools required to create or recover an installation.
- Clean installation on a new administration computer
- Recovery when application files are missing or damaged
- Moving to a new installation folder
- Rebuilding from a known complete release
ITAutomated.AdminDashboard-update-[version]-win-x64.zip
Contains only the files changed for the selected release together with an update manifest and SHA-256 integrity values. Install it through the ITAutomated update workflow.
- Requires an existing compatible base installation
- Must be newer than the currently installed version
- Is validated before any application files are replaced
- Creates a rollback backup during installation
Do not extract an incremental update ZIP over an empty folder and do not manually combine files from unrelated versions.
Download and Verify the Package
Only use files obtained from the official ITAutomated website or customer portal.
-
1
Sign in to the official download area
Use the customer account and download link associated with your licence or trial.
-
2
Select the Windows x64 complete package
For a new installation, confirm that the filename does not contain the word update.
-
3
Confirm the version and file source
Check that the release version matches the version displayed in the download portal and release notes.
-
4
Verify integrity when a hash is published
Compare the calculated SHA-256 value with the value published for that exact release.
Get-FileHash -Path ".\ITAutomated.AdminDashboard-[version]-win-x64.zip" -Algorithm SHA256
When Windows marks the downloaded ZIP as coming from another computer, right-click the ZIP, select Properties, select Unblock when available, and then extract it. Follow your organisation’s application-control policy.
Install the Complete Windows Build
The current release is deployed as a complete application folder rather than a traditional MSI package.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ITAutomated\Application
Open the recommended location
Press Windows + R, enter %LOCALAPPDATA%,
and create ITAutomated\Application. This location
normally allows the signed-in user to install approved updates
without writing into protected Windows folders.
Extract the complete ZIP
Right-click the downloaded complete package, select Extract All, and extract every file and subfolder into the application folder. Do not launch the application from inside the ZIP.
Verify the application files
Confirm that ITAutomated.AdminDashboard.exe, supporting DLL files, appsettings.json and the bundled Tools folder are present together.
Add a Start menu or desktop shortcut
Right-click ITAutomated.AdminDashboard.exe, select Show more options when required, and create a shortcut. Keep the working application files inside the installation folder.
A shared installation under Program Files may require elevation when updates replace application files. Use a location approved by your organisation and ensure the operating account has the required update permissions.
Complete the First Launch
Launch ITAutomated from the extracted application folder and confirm the initial dashboard state.
-
Open the application folder
Double-click
ITAutomated.AdminDashboard.exe. - Review any Windows security prompt Only continue when the package came from the official ITAutomated download area and passed your verification process.
- Allow the dashboard to initialise The first launch creates protected local application and licensing state for the current Windows user.
- Confirm the displayed version The build number appears at the bottom of the left navigation and should match the downloaded release.
Overview
Trial and Licence Activation
Every new installation starts with a seven-day Pro trial unless a licence is already active for the current user and computer.
Evaluate all Pro functions
The trial starts automatically on first use. When it ends, the application returns to the Free edition until Starter or Pro is activated.
Perpetual product access
Activate the supplied machine-specific Starter key. Software updates and support are not included unless separately purchased.
Subscription access
Activate the supplied Pro key to retain product access, software updates, new releases and the included support entitlement.
Open Overview
The product licence card is displayed at the top of the Overview page.
Copy the Computer ID
Use the displayed Computer ID when purchasing or requesting a machine-specific licence.
Paste the licence key
Paste the complete signed key into ACTIVATE STARTER OR PRO.
Select Activate licence
Confirm that the edition, customer and licence status update successfully.
Licence state is protected for the current Windows user and is tied to the licensed computer. Activate ITAutomated while signed in as the Windows account that will normally use the application.

Install Software Updates
Software-update installation is available to an active ITAutomated Pro subscription.
Download the approved update ZIP
Use the incremental package for the target version. Do not extract or modify it.
Select the package in ITAutomated
Open the software-update controls and select the incremental update ZIP.
Allow validation to complete
The manifest, target version, minimum base version, safe paths and SHA-256 file values are checked.
Apply and restart
ITAutomated closes, backs up replaced files, applies the update and restarts the dashboard.
Successful update
Confirm the new build number in the left navigation and test the Citrix connection.
Automatic rollback
If file replacement fails, the updater restores the backed-up version and reopens ITAutomated.
If the installation folder is protected or read-only, the update may be unable to replace files. Move the complete installation to an approved writable location or follow your organisation’s elevated software-deployment process.
Move, Reinstall or Recover ITAutomated
Use a complete package whenever the installation folder or licensed computer changes.
Move to another folder
- Close ITAutomated.
- Copy or extract a complete package into the new location.
- Start the executable from the new folder.
- Delete the old folder only after validation.
Repair damaged files
- Preserve any required configuration and logs.
- Rename the damaged application folder.
- Extract the same or newer complete package.
- Launch and validate the repaired installation.
Move to another computer
- Record the existing edition and licence details.
- Install the complete package on the new computer.
- Copy the new Computer ID from Overview.
- Request a licence issued for the new computer.
Copying the application folder does not transfer a machine-bound licence to another computer. Do not copy protected licence files or credentials between Windows profiles.
Troubleshooting
Expand the issue that most closely matches the behaviour you are seeing.
Close ITAutomated, extract the complete ZIP into a normal local folder, and launch the executable from the extracted folder.
Confirm the official source, version and integrity value. Submit the package to the organisation’s security approval process rather than disabling security controls.
Download the complete package again, extract all files into a new folder, and do not copy only the executable.
Confirm that the update is newer, the base version is supported, the ZIP is unchanged, ITAutomated is fully closed, and the operating account can write to the installation folder.
Copy the Computer ID exactly as displayed, confirm the Windows date and time, and request a key issued for that computer and edition.
Review System Requirements, install the required Citrix SDK or Microsoft RSAT modules, confirm network access and permissions, and run Diagnostics again.
